In many situations, the best way to plan and perform a jazz program is gear the repertoire to the audience. For instance, compositions by jazz composers plus some originals for an audience well-versed in the idiom; a bit lighter programming utilizing more accessible standards for a more general audience. Much of the time, Ed uses his judgement, based on input from the concert presenter.
